BALLINTOY ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Welcome to our website.

We want to tell you about our activities and share information on the archaeology and history of Ballintoy and the surrounding area.

If you live in the locality, we would encourage you to come to our meetings and participate in our events.  Should you live further afield, especially if you originate from, or have some other connection with, north Antrim, please visit our website regularly to keep up to date with what we are doing and learn more about the rich heritage of the area.

Our logo is the dolmen that stands on a hill in the townland of Magheraboy, Ballintoy. Dating from the Neolithic period, it is often referred to as a ‘druid’s altar’ or ‘druid’s stone’. The Society is a member of The Federation of Ulster Local Studies Limited.

The Society is delighted to acknowledge the financial support received from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s All Our Stories programme to create this website.

The Society is registered with The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (NIC 103158).
